Lindsay Low April 24, 2017 Ironwork, Ferronnerie d'Art, Ferronnerie, Artisan Blacksmith The variety of metalwork and ironwork projects continues apace this year.We will allow the photos to speak for themselves! A contemporary twist to this overhead porch at a very pretty, stone house. Unusual, 'scallop' design for this beautiful and majestic pergola. Tensioned cables form the roof to support a growing vine. A beautiful and simply curving log holder which, indoors, could also form the base for a console table! ...or outside, it can do its job of holding a mighty stack of logs! An unusual one here, fabricating strong and robust end supports for a very long pool cover holder. Note the addition of strong, locking castors for ease of moving it about. Railings to enclose a pool area. The start of 'cow proofing' the whole area! A nice detail here to accommodate a change in height. A lovely project - simple, uncluttered style railings on a Japanese style staircase with inbuilt under storage. ..and a view from beneath the staircase of the 'hidden' fixings. A tower, a narrow curving staircase and the need for a handrail for a safe ascent and descent. Very simple, forged end handrail, finished in clear varnish. A view of the handrail from the top of the curving staircase.
